Lakeside Landscape

We started this painting on November 29th, 2017, and I finished it in today’s class, December 6th. It went pretty quickly, despite there being a lot of layers, and interesting bits here and there. I’m pretty pleased with the end result.

patio through a window

Similar to the Matisse painting we copied a few weeks ago, this one is another exercise in looking through a window frame, to create a natural frame for the image beyond.

I missed several weeks of painting class do to reasons, I probably should have done some practice warmups before jumping in on this painting.

So far, I like where it’s going, but it’s long ways off yet.
